ESP32 Wearable Sensor Monitor: Wearable sensing

Overview

A wearable sensing unit built on the ESP32. It reads heart rate and SpO2 from a MAX30102, contactless temperature from an MLX90614 and contact temperature from a MAX30205 on one I2C bus, and streams the readings to a Blynk dashboard over Wi-Fi.

The challenge

Several I2C sensors with different read patterns have to run on one microcontroller alongside the pulse-oximetry algorithm, with a stable cloud link and no credentials in the code.

Key capabilities

  • MAX30102 heart-rate and SpO2 algorithm
  • Contactless (MLX90614) and contact (MAX30205) temperature
  • Shared I2C bus with per-sensor presence checks
  • Live streaming to a Blynk dashboard
  • Credentials kept out of the source code
